Cost Benefit Analysis

Cost-Benefit Analysis related to the intervention will be estimated including the up front costs of training and the time related to the additional meetings required by the intervention. The costs and benefits analysis will be at the end of the project and qualitatively and quantitatively summarized factoring in patient safety benefits, LOS, and nurse turn-over.

Focus Group Interviews

Focus group interviews will be multidisciplinary group interviews that will be conducted after implementation of the communication interventions to examine team members’ perceptions of the effect on team communication. Interview questions may include: “How has using the communication strategies affected communication with other members of the health care team? What do you find most / least useful about the process? Is there anything you would change about the tools or individual processes? Are there any other ways you think they could be used or in other types of situations?”
